हिन्दी अनुवाद – एक दिन शहंशाह अकबर ने फर्श पर एक रेखा बनाई और अपने मंत्रियों को आदेश दिया, “इस रेखा का कोई भी भाग मिटाए बिना इसे छोटा बनाएँ।”
प्रत्येक व्यक्ति असमंजस में था। किसी को भी रेखा को छोटा करने का उपाय नहीं सूझ रहा था।
बीरबल मुसकरा रहा था। जब उसकी बारी आई, उसने अकबर द्वारा बनाई रेखा के साथ एक लम्बी रेखा बना दी।
प्रत्येक व्यक्ति उसकी बुद्धिमत्ता को देखता रहा। अकबर ने बीरबल की प्रशंसा की और कहा, “यह ठीक है। पहली रेखा अब छोटी हो गई। बीरबल तुम सच में महान हो।”
